EVANS pickups...any users?

so i got a friend who owes me some money and today he gave me several pickups to choose from and one of them is an EVANS Eliminator I single coil.

he says they are pretty high end

anyone here used or tried em?

what do they sound like?

Evans pu's

I got one a while back for a Strat but never used it, very hot about 13K, made in Canada I believe, don't know if the company is still in business anymore.
They were high end new ( but then again so were Lace Sensors in their heyday!) Jeff Healey was an endorser.
The guy I sold it to loved it, they don't sound like a traditional Strat pu though.

I just checked the user reviews for the Evans pu's on Harmony Central , apparently Evans is back in business making pu's again, here's the link

yeah i checked out that website already

just wanted to get some feedback from people who have used them or heard them rather than just base my decision on "salespitch"
