GFS Brooklyn sound clip

OK, I made a little blues clip using the GFS Brooklyn I installed in my Epi LP Jr (see thread below for details and pics). The guitar also received a GFS wrap bridge.

No EQing done to the recording, some reverb and stereo widening added through plugins during mixdown. I have to be honest, and tell you the amp is a Fender Mini-Twin So, don't hold that against the pickup, you can hear the vibe and character of the pickup pretty good despite.

Wow, nice playing and great tone ! Hmm... I was trying to decide between the GFS Nashville and Liverpool for the bridge on my Squier, now I don't know anymore :) ! Arrgghh, so many budget choices now.

Thanks for posting the clip, I might have overlooked those, they don't sound like I would have expected.

Looks like I need a mini twin that little sucker screamed!

Great playing who did the backing track?

That was really good your best yet!

The GFS sure sound great for as little as they cost great value!

Nice playing, and inventive production skills. Good job! I like the BIG microphone in front of that tiny amp.

What is the Mini-Twin capable of? We just bought one for my best friend's young son for Christmas. I had thought of it as just a cheap battery-powered amp, but I think your clip shows it is pretty cool. Can you get a decent clean tone from it?

Did you use the pedal too?

Haha! Thanks guys! I'll try to get a better clip up soon. I'll record through a "normal" amp for ya ;)

bug, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from this pickup either, but I already have a set of Dream 90s in another guitar, so I thought I'd try this one instead. Glad I did, this little Epi is one of my fave guitars right now!

Mark, thanks for the kind words. The backing track is one I picked up from the Les Paul Forum's JamZone a long time ago. Just had it sitting around and it was nice a short, so I used it :)

sidney, this about as clean as I can get the Mini-Twin. The Gain control was down to about 1/4. A humbucking pickup, or any more gain, and it quickly turns to distortion. It works great for practicing or late-night noodling though.

fractal, I did use the pedal too. It's a Dan-Echo. I have it set for a very short slap-back. I recorded it to the computer that way, then added a little reverb in the mixdown. Gives it a nice spacious sound that way. When I combine delay and reverb, I use less of each than I would if I were using one or the other alone.
