Gibson Neck P/U

I bought a Gibson 490r pickup for my h/b-routed partscaster tele. It kinda looks like it might be too tall with the protruding feet. Am i going to have to deepen the neck route? Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Thanks
<>< Jack

I had this problem with a Duncan pickup a few years back, when I went to install it in my Squier Bullet Special.

I had to cut the legs halfway down the shaft, and then reattach them with Super Glue inside the stub. It worked, and the sound result was worth the effort.

I would rout deeper. Just be careful not to go through the body.
