nocaster bridge/texas special neck
Heard a lot about this combination, but I've never really heard it. Got a set of Texas Specials in my Telecaster. What would I get by swapping the the bridge pickup for a Nocaster?

The nocaster is more of a classic tele type of pup. Country to classic rock is easy. The output is average, with a slight bump in the mids compared to a 52 RI pup. It would seem brighter (in a good way) and more open than the Texas Special bridge.
The Texas Special leans more towards a humbucker type of sound, over wound and mid heavy. By playing around with the height adjustment, many like this pup. Others hate it. Your preference will depend on your equipment, ears and tastes in tone. |

Thats a great combo.
The Nocaster will give you more twang snap and will cut thru better than the TX spl bridge does.
