tele middle pickup-Barden?
I have a HWY-1 with Bardens. I'm thinking of adding a middle pickup. Just wondering what pickup might work well between the baredens. Anyone using a Barden in combination with another brand? I have a Bill Lawrence strat middle but i'm wonderin if something else would be a better match.

I kave a Rio Grande Halfbreed Strat in between Bardens and it sounds very good. I have it wired so that I can get all five strat sounds, the bridge and neck alone, AND the Rio by itself - I really like to go to that in the midlle of a song just for some variety!

MFDs maybe?
Have a look at the current thread here entitled "Rio Grande ASAT Replacements?" and see what the comments are like for the G&L MFD pickups.
Specifically you might want to look for a smaller Strat-sized MFD from a G&L S-500 model, or even a Tele neck-style pickup from an ASAT Classic. The pickup wouldn't be noiseless, of course, but in terms of output and the basic quality of the sound, you might find they would match up pretty well. I don't know if dealers can sell the MFD pickups individually, but they turn up used on FleaBay or the various gear classifieds fairly often. Best of luck, CS
