Mr. Mare, tell me about your new Twangzilla pickup

I swear I'm not helping Don market this pickup, but I'm truly intrigued by it. I've had the 0038 in the past and ended up swapping it out for a Fred Stuart Blackguard which is my favorite pickup on earth. The Blackguard is more complex and articulate, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that it's wound with 42 gauge and not nearly as hot as the 0038 so it has room to breathe.

Does the construction of your new Twangzilla with both 42 and 43 gauge wire add more articulation while keeping all the output? Or does it effect the tone in another way?

Also, at 11k does it compare in output to your 10k 0038 or the 11.5k version?

I emailed a few days ago, haven't heard back. Plus, I'm sure it's a topic that people will have questions about, this way Don kills a few hundred birds with one stone.

The best way to reach Don is to call him.
