Jim Weider Endorsed Tele Neck PU
Does anyone have any opinions of this Jim Weider endorsed Tele neck pick-up? I forgot the brand name. I've seen the ad in every issue of Vintage Guitar Magaizine and am curious about it. Any thoughts? Opinions? I've always had the complaint that when I switch (rarely) to the Tele NECK pick-up, it sounds like someone suddenly stuffed a pillow in front of my amp. Muddy and dull. I'm wondering if this might be the answer to ALL life's problems.

I think it's a symptom of having two pickups that sound so different. A player will tend to eq one of the pickups to sound good, and the other will then sound too bright or too mellow. Or you learn to make use of the huge variety of sounds...:-) |

This is some advice someone gave for a les Paul, but I think it also applies to Teles: eq the amp for the neck pickup, then roll off the tone for the bridge, and still have some extra treble in reserve for when you need it.
