4-way ready neck pickup

Is there such a thing?

I just ruined a SCN neck pup... I want a drop and play solution. Any suggestions?

Any of the Dimarzio single coils come with an extra ground, I believe.

Someone else suggested this as well in a different forum. I'll have a look. Thanks.

That's a gawdawful shame, because the SCN neck pickup IS (or, in your case, was) "a drop and play solution." Its green lead is the separate ground that the Fender 4-way switch mod requires -- no modifications are needed AFAIK. The instructions that come in the Fender switch package apply only to two-lead neck pickups -- IOW, you could get another SCN (via eBay or some such, assuming of course you liked yours) and you'd be good to go AFAICT.

I think the Seymour Duncan one that's matched with the Broadcaster does, can't recall it's exact name but it's '??? Vintage' or 'Vintage ???'.

Not much help, am I ?

As MusicalMartin said, the CS Texas Specials certainly do.

No, then neck shows 3 leads.

It also mentions CS Texas Special's.

i just google imaged the SCNs and they do have 3 wires so I dunno what the deal is...but anywho

fred stuart
Fralin
rumpelstiltskin

all come with the extra ground on the neck cover.

Fralin comes in both ways.

Im sure if you ask any winder will do this for you, thats how Rumpelstiltskin works-he'll wind it RWRP, or not, just ask.

Same with Novak.

I love that 4th position in-series. Sounds so badass especially with some dirt/drive.

In the interest of matching, I'd stick with a Wilde for the neck to match the bridge SCN, which was designed by Bill Lawrence. I'd go for an L280TN, or an L45S.

So my problem was following instructions. Go figure.

Anyway, to me the neck SCN is a little dark. If the Twisted Tele is stat sounding, It will be just fine.

Thanks all for the replies.
