Looking for a pickup
I fell in love with the sound of a Fender '52 Hot Rod Telecaster and I don't have the budget for one. I want to get as close as I can to the sound of the bridge pickup: 'Custom Vintage Style Single-Coil Tele Pickup'. I'm going to put it in either a CV or a MiM Classic '50. Are these pickups available for purchase anywhere? I can't seem to find any. What would get me close? I don't know much about gear for lighter styles of music so it probably isn't something that specific I'm looking for, probably just a classic fender sound. What is the best thing I can stick in?

I have one of those Fender 52 Hot Rod. The bridge PU is not available from the desk. I have converted my Hot Rod to a std. Telecaster config. and never looked back again. You can use any broadcaster type or hotter PU to probably much better duplicate what the hot rod is promising to be. To my ears the hot rod bridge PU was way to mushy. It was made to match the SD Firebird style Humbucker in the neck position. Together w. the stock 380 KO pots it works fine. But again, I'm in favor of the trad. tele config.,..so I converted it. It now has a Seymour Duncan Broadcaster PU in the bridge pos. and a Jim Weider "Big T" in the neck pos.
I'm probably gonna sell this Tele as I'm gathering too many Teles for my taste and because I found a 67 that I want to give most of the playing time. Shoot me an e-mail or a PM if you're interested. I'm located in Europe too. Good luck

I think that a Fender "original Vintage", or "OV",[same pickup], would do okay...

My orig. Hot Rod bridge PU measured 8,05 KO I think. The OV are quite weaker.
