Am Vintage '52,,..newer A-3s vs.older A5s.

Does anyone know if the bridge pickups in the newer '52 tele reissues are the newer ones, [with the alnico three], or are they the older ones, [with the Alnico fives?]?...... The change happened fairly recently I think.. And does anyone know if there is a real difference between them in sound or not??...... I guess I'm also asking about the neck pickup, too, since I'm askin'..... is there a difference?........ Thanks, R

I think they changed from A5 to A3 in 1998.

Wow! That long ago, huh? I have an older one, 1994, with the A-5s and I'm wondering what the differences in sound are, if any... Have the A-3s been in the '52 tele reissues since 1996 or so, or did Fender decide to keep the older style A-5s in it's post '96 reissue 52 Teles? Thanks, R
