Budget 'buckers - pleasant surprise
So I had a set of GFS Crunchy Pats lying around, and decided to try'em out in a tele that I had routed for 'buckers without a real plan....
They're quite hot, but I was surprised how well they responded to various volume/tone settings on the standard tele wiring. (no coil splitting or any other useless mods) They're nicely balanced, but I found myself adjusting the neck pup a bit lower than 'usual'. They're seriously very good for a meat & potato rocker set up, beefy yet clear and chiming for cleans. These budget pups are staying put! I tested with a mates PV C30, no pedals. No need, the amp's pretty good on it's own. Anyone else with similar experience with budget parts?

I put a set of Axe r us hot humbuckers 8-14K which I think were Artecs like GFS in a strat and was surprised how good they sounded even on coil tap .Certainly the basis of a good sounding guitar .very versatile too

I have a set of Vintage Alnico V buckers from Dragonfire and love them. Articulate yet warm cleans and of course they do classic rock really well. The build quality is on par with GFS and I would venture to say they are rebranded Artecs. $39.99 for the pair- well worth it and more.
