Telecaster CVC - Pick ups

I'm thinking about changing the Alnico V pickups on my CVC to Fender noiseless...is it worth it, what are the differences?

I own both and fwiw, I like the CV's A5s better.

Not that the VNs aren't nice, they definitely are. Not quite the twang.

Just one man's opinion...

I think you can only judge for yourself whether or not you like them. Personally I don't care for them and never have cared for any of Fender's noiseless pickups. They just don't have that old vintage tonality to me.

I might make a suggestion to you though. I just put Wilde Keystones in my CVC with a 4-way switch. No only do you get hum cancelling in the B/N Parallel and Series positions but they are about the quietest single coil pickups you're likely to find.

Very transparent uncolored vintage kind of tonality, not too expensive and a great match for this guitar. Just another suggestion you may want to check into. You can read a lot about them here. They're very a very popular upgrade.

I've never liked vintage noiseless. There's something very off and sterile about them. I would use OVs if I were changing any pickups, but CV pickups are pretty cool and unique.

Thank you all for the feed back. I'll have to listen a bit more closely to the vintage noisless, but will also look into the Wilde Keystones as well.

Again, thank you for the advise & support!

Acocuzzo, I've been debating about going the noiseless route as well. I have a CVC and though I dig the stock pickups, I'm just fed up with the hum. I have a Gotoh 6 saddle bridge arriving monday and I'd like to have both the new bridge & p-ups all put on at once, but still haven't decided. I'm really digging those new Zexcoil's that just came out but also considered Bill Lawrence L48t & possibly L280N. I don't want anything hot, vintage output is prefered. I'm gonna look more into the Keystones too. I hear nothing but great things and if they truly reduce noise to a managable level, I'll just wait and have everything put on at once.

Your post doesn't really say much with regards to what you don't like about your stock pups and the sound you are looking for

Seems like since I have turned my amp up louder and my guitar vol pot down I get a lot less noise out of the noisy tele pups. Anyone else?
