Empress pickups
Does anyone have experience with the "Hot TeleŽ Single-Coil Pickup with Alnico 3 Magnets" in the Empress telecaster? I'm thinking about getting one of these guitars. Are the pickups the same as any of the other teles available?

Hi!
Just saw your post. I have an Empress Tele and absolutely love it. It became clearly my #1 guitar. There is a lot of confusion about the pickups. I also thought these are the same pickups as in the HW1 Teles. The guy at my guitar store called Fender and they assured him, that the pups in the Empress are special wound only for this run. They are truly hot and sound fantastic. This is not a country Tele. The sound is blues and classic rock. Play one and you know what I mean. I think the fact that the tone circuit is the same as in the HW1 guitars (Greasebucket) lead to the confusion. |
