Eastend Custom - Oil City Pickups, any opinions?
Hi all, just wondered if anyone had tried any pickups from oil city pickups? They're apparently hand made in London and so far only available on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Telecaster...d#ht_719wt_922
Has anyone used these or had any experience of them? I'm looking for a replacement pickup for my MIM 50's Esquire, something with a little more warmth and depth without losing the sparkle it has. It'd be nice to buy a UK product for once but I'm not too keen to take a risk on an unheard, untested pickup although they certainly seem like good value. |

I've got a Diesel Tap in my Esquire partscaster. Sounds great. Luckily I live fairly near to the guy that makes them so was able to try one out first but I think they offer a money back guarantee if you don't like it.
I didn't feel confident about the push/pull wiring so they installed the pickup for me for a very reasonable price too. Excellent customer service - they are happy to answer any questions and give you as much help as you need. I have nothing to do with the company, by the way, except as a satisfied customer. |
