Popping in noiseless neck pickup

I have a 2010 MIM Tele with the noiseless pickups. Recently, I hear a popping, static-like sound when I play, but only in the neck pickup. I have seen other postings with similar problems. Is it a ground issue-or dry climate? I live in Colorado.

Might be static from dryness. Try rubbing the pickguard with a dryer sheet, like Bounce or Downey.

Use spray adhesive and line the back of the pickguard with aluminum foil. The metal cover of the pickup is grounded, so it should also ground the foil when it makes contact.

If the cavities in your guitar are already shielded, you may want to ground the pickguard foil through that shielding rather than the pickup cover, to avoid ground loops.

Edit: this is assuming that the problem is static buildup, which it sounds like it is.

Sounds like an easy solution, thanks.
