I've been waiting since October. It's too bad, I'd really like to try the Hamel pickups. I'm gonna move on and buy some other pickups, I can't wait any longer. I'm sure they're great products but how much better are they than Lollar, Fralin, Rolph or Antiquities?

At this point, I wonder if Alan has stopped production of his pickups. This would be a shame. I would really like to order some. Perhaps Ron can give us the 4-1-1.
I'll give it a few weeks, and if nothing I'll move on. |

Well I emailed Alan and he replied fairly quickly saying he would forward my request to Ron, I never heard anything from Ron. Perhaps Ron is the bottleneck?
Or perhaps Alan never forwarded the email? I was willing to throw a couple hunderd into it and just wait forever but if it takes months just to place an order then I think Im moving on. No judgement here if that the way it works then thats fine. |

jjh37854.....how long ago was it when Alan contacted you? I've emailed both Ron and Alan. I'm sure Alan is swamped and really don't expect to hear from him.
However, I thought for sure Ron would have contacted me by now. As I understand it, Ron handles all the orders. Well I'd love to put an order in. |

Scotland, do you like your Duffs? lol. Seriously, someone here posted a clip of their new Strat set with Duffs and they sounded killer. I don't remember who it was, but they sure sounded great. Maybe I'll go that route. I would NEVER give somebody a few hundred dollars for a product to be shipped to me at their convenience. Maybe by all of us being ignored, it adds to the mystique.
Soon those pickups will be $700.00 on eBay like Bardens and we'll be lamenting about them.

I also really liked the soundfiles of the Duffs at allthingsguitar site. To be honest, I was blown away by the tone!
I'm sure part of the desire for the Hamels is their mystique and the opinion that they sound better than the Duffs. I really don't mind the wait for the Hamels since the guitar there going into won't even get started till later this year. One things for sure......I often worry about reliablity issues with ANY product. If it's this much trouble just communicating, what if I needed a pup rewound due to warranty issues? I know Alan makes a great pup, but there's always that chance something could go wrong. Would I be "stuck out"? Hopefully someone can clear this up. |

The thing that irks me is that you're in business or you're not. Don't make me beg you for your product. If it's a marketing ploy, it works because we're all dumbfounded and still wanting to buy the stuff. All I gotta say is, if I told a dealer I wanted to buy a Toyota and he didn't return my call, I'd move on. I know it may be comparing apples to oranges, since the dealer won't hand craft your individual Toyota but in this day and age with the amount of top quality choices such as Lollar or Duff available to us, this is just silly. I still wish I got mine, though...

Listen to me now and understand me later.
Do your homework first. A little reSEARCH goes a long way. Get where I'm coming from?
