Dark/dull/mid-heavy bridge p-up wanted

Recently got a '94 MIJ Paisley and while I think the bridge p-up is very Tele-ish, it's too Tele-ish for me.

Plus I'm going to go "full-girly" w/ this Tele and use 10's so I need some beef.

Two p-ups I'm considering are the GFS 1960's HOT Alnico Bridge ($32.95) and a CS Texas Special I found for $30.

Either ?

Neither ?

Is that GFS the 10K one, or is even more overwound? The GFS 10K is bright w more upper mids than a regular quality 7K Tele, but slightly less treble. Not what you re looking for.

Yeah - it's 9 or 10.

What about the Custom Shop Texas Special ?

Those are listed as 10k . Does it have any particular sonic signature ? Bright, dark, mid-heavy ?

This is the perfect application for the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder.

Yeah, the 1/4 pounder, or the Grande if you just robbed a bank or had a rich aunt die.Rob DiStefano's (you can PM him) Lion might fill the bill .I've only seen the descriptions. But $60 and great reviews.

10k is still reasonable re hum ?

I think I might go grab that CS Texas Special. $30 and it's gotta be better than the stock '95 MIJ that came in this Tele right ?

going "full-girly"
I have had the same problem with some of the MIJ tele bridge pups, man, so freaking bright!!
if it has the treble bleed circuit, you might be able to just remove that cap and tame it a little...also, I have had luck just changing the regular tone cap...some say cap makes no difference, but cheap ceramic caps can be awfully harsh sometimes..
good luck!
