Stacked P/U Hum Problem
Hello Everyone. I am new to TDPRI. I have a problem that I cannot figure out. I have a Tele that I recently changed the neck pickup on. I replaced a pretty beefy GFS neck p/u with a brand new Bill Lawrence (Wilde) L200TN. The old pickup was noisy so I figured this new one, being a stacked humbucker, would solve the problem. So I dropped the new p/u in and guess what? It hums just as bad as the old one. This is what I've done so far to try to resolve it:
1. I re-soldered the ground wire. 2. I rewired the p/u to different connectors on the switch. In other words, i wired the bridge p/u where the neck p/u was and vice versa. That didn't work either. The neck p/u still hums. The weird thing about this is that the single coil bridge p/u is very quiet. Any ideas? |
