Blacktop tele metal humbucker $?$
Hey everyone! New and First post!
I recently bought a blacktop telecaster hh and do not care for the humbuckers it came with. I love playing metal/hardcore/punk type stuff-Saosin, Thrice, underoath and chug chug stuff. I would like to try a crunch lab or tone zone in the bridge but not sure if I want to spend $70 on 1 pup right now. I'm wondering how the gfs power rails or crunchy rails would compare? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) I also play an rg that needs new pups. |

I've had both crunchy and power rails. The power rails have a tad less output but alot better mids and overall tone. The crunchies were a bit harsh and scooped. I was very happy with the power rails for high gain chuggyness.

if you can find a pair of "duncan designed" humbuckers they can be found cheap and they rock, they are made in Korea to duncan specs copy of a duncan distortion, only problem is you have to find them used as takeouts from an off the shelf guitar, as they are not sold retail, I got mine out of a smashed schector diamond series
