Twisted Tele Pup in a 54 Esquire

Just took delivery of a Custom Shop 54 Esquire (dealer select w/ 9.5" radius & medium jumbo frets) and I would like to add a neck pup. After doing some research I have decided to go with a Twisted Tele pup (made in America - it has the white wire instead of green).

My concern is whether I will need to route the neck position deeper in order for the Twisted Tele pup to fit properly which is not something I want to do to a Custom Shop.

Does anyone have experience in these matters? If the neck position does indeed need to be deppened perhaps a recommendation on another neck pup which wouldn't require a mod. Again I am looking for something with balls that will fit right in with the classic rock that I play.

I've been looking for info on the TT pup as well, and while it is taller, the reponses I've seen are that it should fit MIA and MIM routes, and CVs as well.

I understand that they are Strat-like in sound, and are high output, even though they read low ohms (around 5.9 I believe). I found some of the green wire version for $45 shipped.

I hope others who have them weigh in regarding the output, and to confirm that they will fit regular routes. However, mine would be going into a CV50 (with hot 8.8 ohm bridge pup) that I put a thicker neck on, so it can stick up above the PG more than usual.

Everything I've heard says it fits in the route just fine.
Did you get that 54 Esquires from Dave's?
I got a Custom Shop 54 from him a couple years ago and it's the best tele I've ever played. 10/56 neck profile is perfect for me.
Congrats.

Fits fine. I have one in my cv 50s tele. No mods necessary. Mine is also for sale....45 shipped. Green wire though. Not much if any difference from the cs version. Made in the same factory. I do recommend the 4 way, which I also have for sale....on tgp or pm me if interested.

Although taller than usual, they'll fit the existing cavity, no prob.
Actually, they're ALL USA built. Same factory, no difference -AT ALL. Just wire colour code.
They're not high output.
They do sound 'Stratty'.
All the above from personal experience. Bought a few TTs on my last tour of US, put 'em in all my Teles.

Congrats.
I did purchase the guitar from Dave's Guitar Shop. For years I have been looking for a blonde with a greater radius than 7.25" and Dave's had two. Fell in love with the color after watching David Gilmour perform Fat Old Sun on his Live In Gdansk dvd. If you haven't seen it make sure you view the Live In Gdansk version it's awesome.

Thanks to you all for your valuable counsel, I'm grateful.

Yes, that is a great performance, and Tele.

I'm curious, anybody know what effects he might be using during the solo? I've read that Gilmour uses a Big Muff and sometimes a Rat but it just doesn't sound like either of those. Probably something on his Cornish board that's been kept secret.
