CV Neck Pickup Replacement (Yet Another)

I'm sorry to create another one of these threads, but believe me when I say that I have poured over the forums the past handful of months and have not been sold on a solution.

I'm playing a CV Tele through a '74 SFDR w/ Cannabis Rex speaker - retubed, recapped, biased (new acquisition). This set up sounds fantastic until I get to the neck pickup, which is always lacking in some way. No matter the height, no matter the eq's, clean or dirty, it either sounds weak, bassy, or out of phase, and never how I want it to sound - even in my old SF Vibro Champ. Since the neck position is routed for a humbucker as we all know, this opens up a world of possibilities.

So, I'm looking for something that will handle cleans with clarity, dirty with grit and midrange (classic rock / fuzz), and mix well with the stock bridge PU, which I love. Each day I change my mind: Different SC pickup? Strat pickup? MDF? P90? Mini-humbucker? Lollar, GFS, or SD? Is there a difference? Full-on humbucker? What about the caps?

It's enough to make my head spin. Please, for the love of all that is twangy, help me out! (Or should I just say 'screw it' and Esquire it with one position 10% bass boost?)

I like a Good Mini-Humbucker myself. I like GFS pickups for the price get the vintage output mini- humbucker it will blend well with the CV bridge which I also on. I put a Duncan Designed Mini- Humbucker in my CV custom and a Strat middle pickup up. And it sounds AWESOME!!!!! Those Duncan Designed pickups are great if you can find them mine came out of a VM SSH body I got on EBay. But you can't got wrong with Seymour Duncan pickups. He has been making pickups for over forty years and he knows his stuff and they are very affordable. Hope this helps! :)

Thank you for the reply! Have you tried the GFS? How does it measure against the SD? Is there a difference at all?
