Any Love for Neck Position P-90?

Also what are you using in the bridge position? Very curious for opinions as I am considering a P-90 build with a standard Tele PU in the bridge. Thanks!

Thinking about that myself. Harmonic Design makes a neck P90 that looks just like a standard tele neck pup. I think they call it the Super Chrome. Good reviews. Thats the one I'm thinking about, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I have a Squier Telecustom 2 with P90s in both bridge and neck,it's a fine sounding guitar. They sound a little more mellow than my other single coil teles and have a lovely tone dirtied up slightly, especially in open G.
For my tastes single coiled guitars sound great clean or dirty, whereas, although I like the rockier sounds of a humbucker,I think they sound bland when totally clean.

Plenty of love for the P90 here.

I've got one of those as well. Great sounding guitar through the right amp.

I like both P-90s equally, but rarely use the middle position.

Heh,if you budged the others together a bit you could squeeze another 90 in there.

I recently had both pickups replaced in my CV 50 BSB. I replaced the
bridge pup with a Rumplestilskin Black Rope & in the neck I had a
Reilander P90 put in. Totally transformed this guitar! Highly recommend
a P90 in the neck. Really loving the tone I get in the middle position.

yep.. love my neck PU's.... P90's go OK...

nothing better than taking a router to a perfectly good Squier... and transforming it into a keeper.... ...

or a putting in a Gibbo bridge PU to blend with one....

Teles are great platforms, eh?...

Like this? So what do you think the name of the 2nd and 3rd pickups? Twin middle pickups?

that'd be a 4XP90 stack I reckon....

I wonder how many PU combinations it would have?..

I would love to build a Tele with a P90 bridge pickup and a standard Tele neck pickup.

I've got a GFS P-90 in the neck and the GFS Alnico 50s vintage-voiced bridge pickup. I had to crank the P-90 down quite a bit to balance the output. It's a great combo.

The pickups in my Prairiewood Special are from S.K. Guitar Specialties. http://www.skguitar.com/SKGS/sk/pickups.htm

I have his P90 in the bridge and J90, with slug magnets, in the neck. Very nice.

No joke man!

A rod magnet P90 in the neck spot is a real nice compliment to a bar magnet bridge pickup. Rod magnet P90's have such great clarity in the neck spot!

They have a P90 type bridge pickup too. There was one installed in a Squier Telecaster that I bought off of Craigslist... for slightly more than the pickup sells for by itself.

As to P90s in the neck position, if my neck route was a little wider, I'd have already done it.
