Benson pups? YESSSS!!!

Bought a Benson Bridge Tele unit off eBay 6 months ago as a 'cheap' option to complete a project for a client but never used it since he supplied his own.

Just got around to installing it as a 'stop-gap' in a blackguard re-ish I recently acquired and am frankly amazed at the tone! Paired it with a Fender 'Twisted Tele' but wished I'd bought the Benson neck unit too, as the quality here is really very good indeed.

Probably not the very best units you'll ever hear but every bit as good as most! I shan't begin to describe their sound as sound is so subjective.

I'm not affilliated with Benson in any way but just want to say that at the price - in fact, at any price - you can't afford not to check these out. They're always on eBay.

Here, here. I have a custom bridge pup from him and a bridge p90 and they are both as good as they get. And he'll wind pups to match a person's taste. How this guy is not bombarded with tdpri business is beyond me.

John did a killer set of 5/2 Strat p/u's for me and are the best I've ever had. The 5/2 combo is the best of both worlds IMHO.
