Newbie with Lindy Fralin P'up questions
Hi guys. I'm new here. I've been playing Fender Vintage Noisless Pickups in my Teles for 4 years but have come to notice some warmth missing when I play traditional pickups. I tried Texas Specials but I had squealing problems in the bridge pickup with my compressor and Tube Screamer and tried every remedy and never got it to stop. Went back to the Noiseless and forgot about it. Now I'm wanting to try Lindy Fralin Blues Specials and was curious if I'm going to have the same problems because of the baseplate on vintage style pickups? I really want the warmth but don't want the microphonic squeal like with the Texas Specials.
Thanks for your replies in advance. Billy |

You won't know until you try them. Put a piece of foam rubber in the pickup cavity for a little support and use surgical tubing for springs while you try them out. It's all about deadening vibration.

I think the wax potting on the Fralin Blues Special is supposed to help suppress squealing. I have a Blues Special Bridge PU and use a Timmy OD, or sometimes just crank my Swart AST. I've never had squealing from the Bridge PU when I goose it with an OD Pedal. But I don't use a TS and a Compressor. Not sure how loud you are playing either. I play hot at times, but not 'peel your face back loud'.
