CV Thinline Bridge Pickup
I've a CV Thinline, all stock except for a 52RI neck I had and put on her before I ever even plugged her in..
I'm using DR Pure Blues 11's and I'm having an issue with the 1st and 2nd (E and B) strings being too bright..If I lower the treble on the amp or turn the tone knob down (I usually run it about 3/4 anyway) to tame the high strings, the lower strings get a bit muddy..I've tried lowering and raising the pickups to all sorts of different heights (all extremes) and nothing seems to tame it.. So, I guess I don't really like the stock bridge pickup..I love the lower strings when the tone is up and would like to keep that "cut" but tame the high end on the E and B a bit.. Ideas? |

If your in a 'live setting' no doubt you would appreciate that those strings cut thru..however if your just playing alone..then it could be a different story. The pup is an AlNico 5 ..so you may want to try a 3 with flat poles to match your non stock neck pup.

It is live, and that's the issue..when i do any picking in the lower part of the fretboard and I hit the B and E, I hear the sound coming back from the PA and it's a pretty large increased "cut through" as compared to the rest of the strings...I'd like it to be a bit more even...higher up the neck it seems to be less of an issue actually. If the sound guy eq's me so that the higher strings don't cut as much, then the lower strings sound muddy and "woofy"
