Seymour Duncan P-Rails, Parallel wiring is not humbucking

Hi,

I installed a pair of SD P-Rails in an SG. I know they have a lot of wiring options, but my main intent was to wire them each as parallel humbuckers by default and try other options later.

Following SD's diagrams and color codes, I wired Red + Black together to hot, and Green + White together to ground, along with Bare. For some reason, this wiring is not humbucking. Either pickup by itself produces audible hum with the signal that varies as you face the guitar in different directions, like a regular single coil. Only both pickups together are humbucking.

When wired as series (Black - hot, Red + White, Green + Bare to ground) they are proper humbuckers, but I don't want the series tone.

So I'm pretty stumped. Has anyone else had trouble with P-Rails parallel wiring?

Well, yes, I registered there too, but apparently your registration has to be approved before you can post. My Google search for answers brought up some results on this forum, though no answers. Thanks for the suggestion.

Contact customer service, not just the forum.I understand why the parallel hums-the coils are mismatched, but why the series doesn't is a mystery.Any magnetic field orientation hum killing factor would be there either way it seems.I do notice series is described as humbucking, but parallel is not.
