EMG T Set pups
Has anyone tried these ? I am considering swapping out mu cheap Alnico V's for these as I wanted something with a bit more versatility. Has anyone used them and can recommend them ? They are about £140 in UK so don't just want to dive in.
Thanks |

I tried a set for a while, then swapped them out for a set of Fender OV's to get the real-deal vintage tone.
They sounded fine, no real complaints at all. Dead silent when you aren't playing, absolutely no hum or RF interference. If I was still gigging in bars with a lot of neon signs around, I probably would have kept them. Minor problems on installation- I had to enlarge the hole in the pick guard for the neck pickup very slightly, just a few minutes with sandpaper. The battery is a tight squeeze in the control cavity, took a few minutes of fiddling to get it in there.

I have a set of EMG TC pickups that i had installed which sounded really good. I can agree with what Ricky D. said about them, though they weren't for me as I like a bit more mids that what they offered. That being said, I would really love to try the EMG T set as I think that would be an ideal sound.
