Hi,
I quote from the little paper from the original box of my VHTBX -PU:

"Humbucker:
The 2 coils of this pickup are individally accessible in order to allow coil splitting.
For normal hook up without coil splitting, tie the Black and Shield wires to Ground and the White becomes hot wire. Ignore the Red wire, leave it open.
For split coil operation, the Red wire can be either shorted to Ground which turns off the top coil, or can be shorted to the White wire which turns off the bottom ciol. A single pull, double throw switch allows selection between or both.
To change the phase of the pickup, just reverse the White and Black wires."

Following are two short description for the Single Coil (ie: VHS-1 and VHS-1R) and P-Bass pickup.

I hope, I could help you a little with this,

best regards

I'm assuming they don't make these any more? I've come up empty on several searches.
