I'm fixing up an old SG special to sell, and need a P90 for the neck slot. The neck pup in there had died, so I cut it off about 1991, and only used the bridge pup. I still have some of the parts, but I'd prefer to have a working pup in that slot when I sell it. It's got some other mods as a real player's guitar, so I'm not concerned about vintage originality.

I don't want to sound, well, CHEAP, but I don't want to put a lot of money into this. Any recommendations?

Well, Im not a Gibson expert (nor a Fender one

) but I wonder if a pickup from the recent Epiphone SG line would fit? Im sure you could find a used Epi p/u on ebay for pretty cheap.

Bought one off Ebay. It was cheeeeep and actually sounds good.
