PUPs for new Tele build?

I'm in the process of building myself a custom Tele. It will be an Ash body, with Nashville Tele PUP configuration, solid maple neck. I like to play Country exclusively. Not just one style, but all of it. I want this guitar to be versatile. I like old-school chickin pickin to Dwight Yoakam. What PUPs do you guys recommend to be best bang for the buck? I play through a Hot Rod Deville 212.

Well there's so many pickup makers out there that the options just go on and on, but a few options which should give you "bang for your buck" could include Bill Lawrence (Wilde), always well reviewed here, Tonerider are good value too. I think the Fender Vintage sets are pretty good for the money as well. Seymour Duncan are quality without being super expensive and there's a good range of options for "traditional" Tele tones in the lineup.

Howdy,

DiMarzio Twang Kings are fantastic. They aren't coming out of my Mahogany Tele; Best Tele P/Us I've ever played. Affordable, too.

You'll have to mix and match PUPs, I assume in a Nashville config? YOu might consider contacting Ken from Rose pickups and see if he'll wind you up a set.

Just another set to consider, of course. I've got some Westerlands in my Tele, with an Alba on the way.

Thanks for the all the ideas so far. Everyone keeps talking about these Kinmans, Lindy Fralins a lot. How do they compare to the ones listed in this thread? I'm also curious to the Fender CS Texas Specials too. I've searched on here, You Tube, and every place I can think of to hear all these different ones, but its hard to compare since every player is using a different amp/effects. If you guys have any sound clips of your specific pups, can you post it in here?
