New Neck P-90!
Howdy,
Today I took my Mahogany Tele (From USACG) to the guitar shop to have a SD Vintage P-90 put in to replace my single-coil neck P/U. Originally both P/U's were DiMarzio Twang Kings. I just couldn't resist the temptation of replacing the neck P/U with a living, breathing, sweaty P-90! I've got a Gibson LP Sp. with these same P/U's and it's a blast. I figure with the bridge P/U alone, I'll still have a wonderfully Twangy Bakersfield sound. As is, with both TK's, the middle position was great.I'm looking forward to hearing the guitar with the P-90 and playing it with both P/U's on (middle position). Any of you who've already done that, please chime in! The anticipation is starting to get to me! Respectfully, Eggman PS: Don't kick me out of the Tele club. I've still got my American Std. with '52 RI P/U's :) |

I've got one with an unknown P-90 in the neck (I got it at a pawn shop for $10) and a DiMarzio PRE-B1 bridge pickup. The PRE-B1 is a hot Tele pickup that still has the Tele character. It matches well with what I suspect is a Gibson or Epiphone P-90.
