CS Nocaster Pickups

I am looking to upgrade my Highway one telecaster to Nocaster Pickups to my Highway one(upgrade model) Tele. I would like to know how these pickups differ from the stock pups. Also I would like to know if I should have the greasebucket circuit removed. Also does the bridge pickup(nocaster) have a baseplate? I have made several mods to my guitar already Vintage gotoh tuners/round string tree and vintage brass saddles as well.

Any replies would be most helpful.

Your HWY1 pickups are way way hotter than the Nocasters.

So you will definatly hear a difference in sound probably more highs and a more clear midrange.

You can leave the greasebucket in there.

Thanks mark i just want my guitar to be more tele sounding. I noticed the nocaster pups are also more balanced output wise as well.

The Nocaster bridge has a zink baseplate. The are VERY vintage Tele, but not harsh or ice pick.

I say Nocasters are the BEST sounding Fender Telecaster pickup you can buy.

I should think you would LOVE THEM !

I have mine with a 4 way switch and they sure sound nice, boomy and fat in series.

Thats one reason the CS Nocasters sound so good.

A nice light body big neck and the Nocaster pickups is a winning combo

I have CS Nocasters on my Highway 1 and they were abosolutley stunning in sound!!! I do feel that they are the BEST Tele pickups for Vintage Tele tone that I have ever used or heard. Excellent. I put them on all my guitars if I can. However, I did NOT like the sound of them being used in the Gotoh Modern Tele Bridge, which I used temporarily on my HWY1. They sounded choppy, weak and slightly thinner. The 3 saddle vintage plate stock on the Hwy 1 just complimented the Nocasters much better in my opinion. I would never ever used the Gotoh again with those pups at least. I am a firm believer in the 3 saddle traditional bridge for true VINTAGE Tele tone. My .02

nocasters are my favorite tele pickups. for the price, they are a steal! i tried to best them for a while with lollars, mares, fralins, stuarts, etc., but eventually came back to the nocasters.

fred stuart may have ever so slightly bested the nocaster bridge pickup with his blackguard bridge, but the difference is negligible. the nocaster set, however, has a neck pickup that'll stomp anything from stuart or anybody else for that matter IMO. and the two pickups in parallel is just jangle heaven!

The Nocasters are my favorite Fender pickups. They are strictly vintage and sound incredible for all purposes.

I own a hwy 1 as well and use it in a Praise & Worship band. A lot of the songs we do have modern gain/grit. My Highway 1 seems to handle pretty well. Would the nocasters pups sound better?

My buddy just installed Nocasters in his '72 Tele. He loves them, and tells me he wishes he had put these pickups in a lot sooner..

I had OV and I am using Nocaster right now. To me they are sound similar, the OV is a bit more sparkling whereas Nocaster is mellower. You can't go wrong with ether set, if I
will have to buy another set, I'll probably go for the OV due to less cost and similar
tone quality.

Thats me sold. I have heard the ov pickups but i found the nocasters more evenly balanced and clearer sounding. And at the price i saw they are a steal.
