Rail type pups- Which position

I just picked up a cheapie rail-type pick-up, an RAVE-R73F Hot Rail, to put in my Ibanez strat copy (early 80's Roadstar). I changed the bridge pup years ag to a Dimarzio, which I really like and don't want to swap, so that means the new pup will go either in the middle or neck position. It supposedly is designed for the neck, and is rated at 11K. Any thoughts on which of the two slots a pick-up like this would work better in?

I'm looking for a slightly heavier tone that still has clarity than what I have now, if that's any help. The Ibanez pups are a little muddy to my ears.

- 11K is to hot for a neck-pick up,it would sound too muddy in this position,it"s supposed
to be placed in the bridge position,so either swap the DiMarzio out or leave the Hot Rail
for another guitar.
Neck-pickups are usually in the 5K-7K range,in my estimation.

Yeah, I kind of wondeed about that. I might swap position and put the dimarzio in the middle and see how it sounds.

I wound up trying the rail in the Middle slot just as an expediency. Nice sound, but I seriously doubt if it's as hot as advertised. It has a nice, full tone, but nowhere near the bite the dimarzio has in the Bridge slot, so I think Ill let things set as they are.

One happy coincidence, I think I wired the spot between B and M out of phase. The output is quite a bit lower, but it has the coolest funky tone I've ever had in a guitar. Disco here I come! <G>
