what ARE these?!
Hey guys,
I just picked up a 1993 american standard strat yesterday, apparently it belonged to the lead guitarist of "the clarks"... (not sure if thats true). Anyhow, I was curious what pickups are in it and peeled the pickguard off this morning. As soon as i flipped it over, i saw the "fender custom shop usa" decal on the back of the pickguard, so i am assuming that the whole loaded pickguard came from the custom shop. the pups don't appear to have any markings or numbers (other than the part no. for the pickup covers). is there any way to tell what these are? will measuring resistance of the windings tell me anything as to what they are? SSS configuration. any input is appreciated. here is a link to pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/BenBauder/Strat# |

Welcome to the forum !
If they were custom shop pickups they usually have a sticker ON the pickups and cloth wires. The color of the vinyl wires could make them USA Strat pups and the guitar is some special build or artist series from the custom shop ??? just a quick guess. email the s/n to consumerrelations@fender.com |
