Neck-Hot,Bridge-Hot,Middle-NOT!!!!

Is this normal for a stock Tele? I don't have a clue cause
i have never owned a Tele.Basically eveything is new to
me but this middle position is like cranking your volume
down a quarter turn when in that position.
Guitar is a stock(AFAIK) 1985 mij 62 reissue.
Any ideas on this i would be very grateful.

Out of phase

Sounds like they may be out of phase... in english, one of the pups may have been wired backwards...

Best bet is to open her up and trace the wires...

I don't think it's unusual for the normal parallel-wired middle position to sound a little less hot than either single pickup position -- same deal as the B/M and N/M combos on a Strat. I'd try some other Teles at local stores to get an idea of whether yours is out of whack or normal.
