Charlie Christian pup - Package Questions

Hey all,

My Lollar CC pickup package arrived today. Was excited to open the box but when I did all I saw was the pickup, the receipt and the paperwork Lollar includes. I ordered the pickguard mount version but it looks like the body mount version.

There were no mounting screws or springs or anything.
Am I supposed to use the ones that are on the tele neck pickup?

I just don't get it.
This is my first time attempting anything like this if you already couldn't tell.

Has anyone else had the same experience?

Thanks,
Dm

Okay, I just watched the youtube videos and I see now how the screws work. I will have to go out and buy some of those 7/8" #4 mounting screws...

Getting this installed is gonna be a bear...yeesh.

I imagine the missing screws and springs must have been an oversight. I have ordered a few sets from Lollar, including a CC I installed last week, and I have always received the correct screws and springs with the pickups. I'd send an email and let him know, maybe he'll send some out to you. Did you make sure to look under the foam padding in the plastic box? That's where he usually puts the screws, springs, Lollar guitar pick and Lollar sticker.
Oh, and you're going to love the CC.

Well I'll be...

You were right!!
The screws, springs, warrantee sticker and a bakelite pick were under the foam padding!!

Dangit, I could have mounted the pickup to the guard tonight if I had known that. Rats, the family is asleep so I will have to do it at work tomorrow.

Cut the huge rout with the dremel...It took FOR-EVER!!
Wired the new pickup in following the old wires...clipped the old ones about 1.5" from the pots and soldered new wires to old wires. Didn't wanna take a chance melting a pot with my soldering iron.

Tomorrow will attempt to cut the old pickguard to fit the new pickup and mount the springs and screws.

Did you look under the second layer of foam your pickup was laying on top of? I'll bet a lot of money not. I've ordered pups from Lollar twice and they always included mounting hardware and a pick. Just look take everything out of the plastic box and you will see what I mean.

Yes indeed.
It's looking like I will be playing it tomorrow.

If the pickguard hole isn't spot on when I cut it, I will just cut the rout larger to accomodate until I get the backup pickguard on.

I'm really going to have to be careful with how I cut the pickguard. I reeeeeally don't want to have to pay 70 dollars to have another one made. And I sure as heck don't feel like waiting on making another one myself.
