Seems like the Wilde site is in the middle of being redone, as of last night. This was previously on the site but I had to pull it from an old post.
(From May 9th on wildepickups.com) "Everyone knows we originally made an arrangement with Lace last fall, but we moved again into our new location this year on February 1, 2010. We wish Don and Jeff all the best and hope they do well with their recent move to their new location too. Btw, our current wait, at this time, for orders in queue is around 4-6 weeks, and we expect by June 2010 to be back at a 1-4 week wait. We'll keep everyone posted." I think wait times went up for a while because of two factory moves and Bill's health issues, but they're settled back down in their new factory and Bill's feeling better than he has in years! |

Thanks to our dear friends at the tdpri!
First of all, I want everyone to know the good news! Here's an update of Bill as of last Friday -- http://www.billlawrence.com/Pages/News/2010.htm
You don't know how much the tdpri and our friends here mean to Bill and me. Last year when Bill was hospitalized and wasn't supposed to make it, I printed out your postings for him to read (if he couldn't read, I read it out loud for him to hear!)and feel the appreciation and support generated at the tdpri for Bill Lawrence. I will start crying as you can't imagine what a fighter Bill is and how lucky we are to still have him around to keep doing his thing! Yes, we're revamping the website for easy access and easy ordering. For now, these Paypal links for the Keystone's are on our website - http://wildepickups.com/Wilde_Bill_s_Online_Shop.html Over the years, Bill was always a night worker --writing, thinking, studying, designing --doing all the things a genius like Bill does for fun. I have a multitude of writings by Bill that is in storage, and I think the tdpri is an ideal source to share these glimmers of guitar brilliance! Thanks for being patient with Bill and me. Love, Becky |

I am so glad to see you, Becky, back out in the open, fielding the questions of the many customers and all the many well wishers and all the generalized nonsense that goes with the being in business in Southern California.
We hope your return to public life is a smooth and blissful one and we've missed you and worried about you, too! In case you didn't know! :^) |

God Bless you, Bill and Becky.........
My father has been through some health issues. He is a fighter too........we pray and we do what we can........ Keep on trucking....... It takes it toll on everyone......dealing with bills and appointments, aches and pains. Then, your passion and your "work" takes a back seat......missed deadlines and trying to get product out and ansering emails.........I get sick to my stomach when these things happen........can be very stressing. Anyway, just wanted to say, GOD Bless and good vibes. |

I just received an email from them today, I guess the website is being fixed. I don't know about Keystones, but I heard a guy using L45S on Youtube last night & decided I gotta have them. I was thinking Suhrs and a noiseless backplate, but these sounded so good , plus they are noiseless. $138 for 3! I'm looking for super clean, bright sounds - I heard the Keystones are great too, Bill describes them as a soft P90.
Anyway, everything's available - you just may have to email them until the site is up and running again. |

I'm patiently awaiting my first pickups from the Lawrence's (keystones, about 2 weeks into the wait right now). I must say that everyone's stellar opinion of this man and his family makes me very pleased to do business with them. I've looked up as much information on him as my google will find and he is truly an impressive soul. But the stellar opinion you guys have of the keystones is actually having the opposite effect on my patience. I really, really can't wait to get them. It kind of feels like being 8 years old and two weeks till Christmas. Best wishes to the Lawrence family for continued health and prosperity. God Bless.

You are in our thoughts, and I have two more sets of Tele Keystones on order. Glad to hear you both are doing well.

I was about to order a set of tonerider strat pickups but this thread convince me to wait and order a set of keystone. I don't see any option on the ordering form to specify the cover color.

I have been following Bill's health as decently possible and I am delighted to read how well he is. How are you Becky ? You have had your problems too which I certainly have not forgotten about.

I'm much, much better too!
Thanks for asking Scotland. The year 2009 was a difficult one for both Bill and me healthwise. However, together Bill and I overcame these obstacles and we're still here to do, as Ron Kirn so nicely phrased it, the Wilde Thing! I must say that I gained a tremendous respect for the medical field, using it as a valuable tool & I gained a great fascination with our human body to heal itself given the right platform. Btw, here's a Bill Lawrence tidbit!! -- Everyone knows that Bill was a smoker, 55 years and between 2-3 packs a day. When at the hospital, on October 14, 2009, Bill gave his word to the doctor -- with a handshake -- that he would quit smoking. Since he entered the hospital on October 12th, he hasn't smoked one cigarette, over eight months later...and that is our Bill Lawrence!
I personally think that Bill not smoking gave his body a better chance, with the chemo, to fight those defector cancer cells growing in his body. You should see his hair -- it's doubled in amount and half is black mixed with his gray! Crazy! Again, thanks for asking, dear Scotland. Ok I'll change it....
First, let me tell you the story behind that drawing of Bill and me.
In 1997, while attending the Namm trade show in LA, we needed our employees to send us a box from Pennsylvania for the booth. (At that time, we were offering the Wilde guitars too!) When we opened the box, our talented artist employee Claud, who had even worked at Marvel comics as a teenager, drew this caricature of Bill and me and placed it at the top of the items shipped! I have always treasured this drawing by Claud and used it on many, many occasions. But, ok, I'll change it for our new beginnings! |
