Tele SCN Vs. Strat SCN's.
Any of you guys use these in both guitars? I've been through countless PU's in my Tele and finally found the sound I was after with the SCN's. I currently have Dimarzio Area's in my Strat and like them allot, but since I actually liked the SCN's in my Tele more than my Area T's I can't help but wonder if I wouldn't like the SCN's here as well? Do they have the same big sound the Tele PU's have? I think these PU's have a nice cross between a SC and HB sound.
Thanks.

Jack....while I can't compare them exactly to the Tele SCNs...I've done a number of Custom Strat builds for Customers using the Lawrence designed SCNs from Fender, and they were all quite pleased w/ the sound, and so was I...I think they make for an Excellent Strat Option.

You might give them a try in your strat, if you like them in a tele. I've got both a MIA Tele Deluxe & Strat Deluxe, and with the 5way switch on strat + the S1 option you get a good variety of tones. The S1 on a tele from what I understand operates much like having a 4way switch installed.

![]() It's a love/hate thing. I've had a bunch of Tele's. I go crazy not being able to get the sound I'm after and sale them off, but it's not long before I'm missing it. How crazy is that? My new idea is put a HB in the neck, because this is the PU that really gives me headaches. I just need more clarity, but when I find one that has the detail and clarity there always seems to be some kind of treble spike I can handle. It's maddening I tell you.

Teles are a different kind of beast, and I'd venture to add that they require a bit of a different playing style from a physical stand point (at least for me). On a strat I tend to rest my pinky on the gaurd, with a Tele, I tend to rest my arm on the body...

SCNs are my favorite noiseless pickup. They might not be vintage, but they still have the balls to wall sound to have bonified street credit. I wish I was good enough with wiring to use them to their full potential in my custom guitars.
