Are the 69s in my classic player 60s strat wound by Abagail?
Hi all,
I know this isn't a tele pup question, but I can't get a straight answer, and I thought y'all might know. Are they handwound by Abby? Also are the sets fender sells handwound by her? |

Every pickup sold by Fender (or any other manufacturer) is wound on a machine. I don't know if Abagail put the components on the machine or not, but "handwound", no.

Mine are initialed, but not signed. Here's what confuses me. The tagline here says that they're wound by her, but the details says checked and initialed!

This is the way I heard it:
Some of the first 60's classic players got the Abigail initialed pickups. Basically the initialed pickups are wound on her watch, by her team members, she supervised them but didn't actually wind them. The ones with her full name, she did herself on the winder. When the 60's player came out they used what was on hand, and I guess at that time they had a bunch of initialed on hand so thats what they threw in. They didn't do it long from what I remember, and the only way for you to tell, is to pop that sucker open and look. (edit) The link you provided would tend to reinforce what I have heard. |

...if Iīm not mistaken mine are initialed as well, itīs been a year or so since I put them in now, but Iīm pretty sure they had something handwritten on them. Never the less, they sound fantastic and thatīs what really matters to me
