Need Help Unearthing Info about this pickup!

Hey all, I recently had an older gentleman come into the guitar shop where I work requesting a new neck pup to replace in his old fender telecaster. He told me he had a lot of work done on the tele (such as a maple top added), but this is irrelevant. What is important is that I played the pickup before I switched it out for him and it sounded phenomenal! I told him he shouldn't replace it at all, but he was stubborn and had me install a new Seymour Duncan pup for him. Here's the best part though...after I installed it he told me I could have the old pickup because he had no use for it! Go Figure! He says the Telecaster was from the '70's (which it appeared to be). It had the older neck decals and 3 bolt style.
Now I'm still trying to figure out how to date this pickup though. It doesn't have two wires like a normal a tele pickup, instead it has a metal braided shield (ground) wrapped around a white (hot) wire. I'm not sure what year fender manufactured this and I've scoured the internet for information but I can't seem to locate anything. I'm hoping somebody here can help shed some light on the situation. Let me know anything that might be helpful.

The images aren't displaying because it directs to the facebook page and not the hardcoded image locations. Here we go!

Sorry, no ideas for what it can be :/

not 100% but I had a 73 Fender Bridge with that same braided wire - your chassis does look to be from Fender ~ my guess is early 70s also~
