nashville tele pickup change
hey!
i'm looking at changing the bridge and neck pickups in my nashville tele (bridge to bright, neck to muddy) but am quite satisfied with the middle position. I do,however, quite like the sounds i get on the 2 and 4 positions (bm, mn) and was wondering if i was to change the pickups, what i would have to consider to make sure i kept the sound i was getting in those positions. thoughts? ideas? contributions? all would be much appreciated |

I like my SD 5/2 bridge pickup. It retained that stock tele vibe, but is fuller and not too bright. The neck 5/2 is a little muddy. I really like the sound of my neck Fender Vintage Noisless, but the output is a tad weak (not too bad though).

Original Vintages would be great.
The OV neck by itself is a honey in most guitars. I did not find the stock Dlx Nashville bridge pickup to be bright but I wasn't satisfied with it, either and the OV bridge is much much nicer. Best of all you will preserve noise canceling as the OV neck and bridge and the Tex Mex Tele neck and bridge share all the same polarities and wind directions. Perfect. Meaning I have personally used these 3 pickups together (that black AS Tele with the tortoiseshell PG) and it sounds great in actual use. I love the Keystones as a pair but those 3 together is a less than perfect mixture, IMO. The Keystones are already RWRP so that means noise where you had none with the stock combo. Plus, the Keystones are just so different from the middle Tex Mex, the quack is gonna be all balled up. If you install Keystones, get a new pickguard and put the Tex Mex middle away for some other project.
