Which pickups in a Nocaster?

Which pickups or specs were in the original Nocaster? Also if I wanted to do a Nocaster build, which pickups would be best to put in to get closest to the original sound? Cheers

Groovey Records, I'm a huge Mare fan with two sets currently. I think his Nocaster set used to be called 0514, but I'm not sure what he calls them now.

Fender Nocaster pickups would be a logical choice for authenticity.

Anything by Don Mare couldn't be but so much wrong.

I guess I'm no help at all. The actual Nocaster pickups were inconsistent from one to the next, so there is no precise sound which is "the nocaster sound".

I'm going to have to agree with Tim on this...Nocasters Pickups seem to be the best choice for a Nocaster!

What do the originals look like? Do you have pictures to show what you mean?
