buzzing Fender noiseless pickups.

hey everyone, i'm sure there are threads on this already but I just wanted to clarify and get some opinions. I installed vintage noiseless pickups in my tele and I had a hard time soldering all the ground wires to my volume pot (i don't think my soldering iron had enough juice and the pot was acting like a giant heat sink). It seemed like I had everything attached well and I stuck a wire under the bridge plate and soldered it to the volume pot since the noiseless pickups don't have the metal bridge plate. I thought everything was working well but then I noticed a slight buzzing that stopped when I touched the strings, metal knobs, bridge, tuners, etc. I plugged other guitars into my set up and they did not have a buzz. Would I be correct in thinking this is a grounding issue with the ground wires not making proper contact? Thanks for your help guys!

I use 2 irons. A 25 Watt for connections and a 100 Watt bad boy for quick ground to pot back connections. Seems to work well and I think it is better to do a quick hot jolt than to spend forever heating up a pot and hoping it gets a good ground connection. YMMV etc. I have never destroyed a pot this way.

Sounds like your string ground is not good. Do you have a multimeter you can use to measure the resistance from the ground point of your wiring to your bridge/strings? Should measure as a short (less than 1 Ohm).
