ASAT Special p/u height

I'm trying to find the sweet spot with my p/u's on my ASAT special. They are the MFD soapbar style. How high are you guys setting yours?

Hi ya Echoplex. Mine are:
Neck - 5.75mm Low E side, 6mm High E side.
Bridge - 6.75mm Low E side, 7mm High E side.
Measured from the top of scratchplate to the top of the pick up.

Mine have been this way for 15 years and will stay that way until they put it in the ground with me! It works for me, so give it a try.

Regards.

Kinda hard to tell with that method of measurement. It doesn't take your string height into account. I'm starting to get them dialed in a little better. Believe it or not this guitar twangs more than my Nocaster.

Ah, good point! Ok, I've just measured again - With all pole pieces level:

Neck - Low E 3.25mm, High E 3mm.
Bridge - Low E 4mm, High E 2.5mm.

Measured from top of pole piece to bottom of string.

This seems rather close, but that's how it came from the factory all those years ago.

Thanks for the measurements. Is this with the last fret depressed?

Billy

Is this with the last fret depressed? - No, open strings. Let me know how you find it.
I'm not surprised about the twang factor, mine does everything I ask of it. Leo hit the 'jackpot' with those pickups.

How old is the guitar? I'm interested in geting another Asat, I know that there has been a few minor changes over the years, so I'm curious as to any sound differences.

Regards, Paul.
