Looking for 52 hotrod tele wiring diagram-HELP

Hi All,

I'm going to put in the Seymour Duncan vintage mini humbucker into my new american standard telecaster and I have looked everywhere for the wiring diagram for a 52 hotrod tele, so I can be sure to wire it right. Has anyone seen the wiring diagram for the hotrod tele?

thanks so much!!

I've never found that wiring diagram, and as you probably know it's not up at Fender.com . . . but I did find mention, in an answer to the same question, as follows:

"It should be no different really then a "humbucker in the neck" diagram from seymour duncans site."

So try this one:

I've never opened the guts of mine, but I'm pretty sure it's wired like the usual Tele. If the minihum comes with 4 conductors, just solder the red wire with the white together and then the pup works like a single coil (check Seymour notice to know which conductor will then work as the + or the -).
Also don't forget the '52 hot rod uses 375k pots, which helps for a brighter tone.

I've got the link to the pdf on Fender's website at home. If nobody else posts it, I'll post it tonight. It's on Fender's site, they just don't link to it from the wiring/parts section.
From what I remember it has: 2 375k Alpha pots and a .022 uF cap. The braided wire on the humbucker gets soldered to the volume pot. Everything else is the same.

I want to make sure I understand, if I leave in the stock pots and put in the SD Mini HB my tone just won't be as bright. Otherwise I can leave the stock pots in?

Is the bridge pickup on the Hot Rod an OV, same as the regular issue 52RI? The parts list says it's a "Vintage Hot Rod '52 Tele bridge". Is there a difference in pickups?

Well, the part number is different, and they have different names, so I would guess they are different, but of course with Fender, you never know. They don't sound the same to me, but then I've only just acquired a VHR 52, and haven't yet really done an A/B comparison test . . .

thanks everyone for your help.
