Mighty Mite P90s = goodness

I installed these p90s in my shoreline gold tele build and they are so goooood. Here are some sound clips:

www.myspace.com/nosleeptillrio

I had toneriders in (too dark), then fralin alnico pole piece p90s (too bland - not enough character). I was going to buy lollars, but read good things about mighty mite. They totally blow me away.

Most guitar parts in all songs recorded with the mite p90s. Other guitar parts are on a tele.

I've tried several Mighty Mite pickups:
  • Strat alnicos
  • Strat rails
  • Tele
  • Vintage Buckers - these are some of my favorite humbuckers
I haven't been disappointed with anything from Mighty Mite. For the money, they are great pickups.

I've always been impressed with Mighty Mite pickups. As budget pickups go they are way better than GFS, in my experience.

For quite a while I had a MM P90 in my LPJunior that I got off eBay for about 12 dollars, but, assuming it would be an 'improvement', I tried, first, a Duncan Stacked 90 noiseless...which soon came out...and then a Duncan Antiquity P90. The Antiquity was very nice, but about an hour ago I put the Mighty Mite back in...just for something to do...and without a doubt it's way better than the Duncan. I'll be keeping the MM in. Full, balanced, clear and it sounds great with different combinations of volume and tone levels.

12 bucks......

Sorry for the delay guys - Here are some pics. I posted these at reranch too awhile ago. I built it myself: all nitro, allparts neck (10'' radius), body from delta luth.

Cool. I've never seen a thinline with the controls reversed before.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I've finely gotten a bit better at finishing over the years.

With the thinline control plate, I had some guy on ebay, who makes custom thinline guards cheap, reverse the tone controls. I prefer to reverse the control plate on my standard telecaster (also finished by me in inca silver) so I don't accidentally hit it with my hand when strumming.
