Pots for a CS '51 Nocaster set,......

I ma putting a CS '51 Nocaster set in a '69 Thinline reissue.
What pots? 250k or 500k? The 1meg pots aren't going to cut it.

Thanks

If it was mine, I'd go with 250K pots, and a .047uF tone cap. As far as I know, these are the most common values.

I have 250k pots and a .022 cap in my thinline with Nocasters.

+1, default choice.

Anything from a .015 uf cap to a .068 cap might please you, depending on the guitar.

I like the gentle control one gets from a small value (250K) volume pot; big value pots are almost like on off switches.

BUT. Don't be afraid of a 500 K tone pot, if you usually keep yours wide open, and if you like a deep roll off when you finally do reach for that tone pot. No, I don't do the Jeff Beck thing with the tone pot I almost could.

This is backwards from some guys. They want volatility in the volume pot and sluggishness on the tone pot.
