scratchy/staticy neck pup keystone

I am getting scratchy and static like noises using the neck keystone pup. Bridge is fine. It is worse when i use bare fingers without pick. I get noise when i strum, and when I touch the neck pickup adjustment screw. Is this something a cavity shield would help? I had heard/read that fender MIMs have shielded cavities but it doesnt seem like they are, unless they use clear shielding paint. I dont know what shielding paint looks like, never used it. Anyone know what i might do to fix this issue?

Did you make the cover on the neck PUP [blacklead] the hot or do an out of phase with the neck pup via 4 or 5 way switch with out isolating the neck pickup cover's ground?

the neck pickup has no cover. I just wired it the way it was wired before, three way switch.

Sounds like you might have picked up some static electricity in your pickguard. Dry rubbing your pickguard with a dryer sheet. They're anti-static and most often solve the problem you're describing.
