humbucker wiring

going from 2 wire humbuckers to 4 wire humbuckers with 12 adjustable poles, here is the wiring schematic I have found for 4 wire north to toggle switch, north and south end solder together and tape, south start ground, also how do you tell which humbucker is bridge and which one it neck if not stamped and you do not have an ohm meter

sorry this isnt a tele, but it is a very nice 1" thick hollow body

The wiring sounds right, of course you would switch the start wires if the pickup is out of phase with what ever pickup you are using with it. With out an ohm meter it may be difficult to tell if it is a neck or bridge pickup. If it sounds overpowering in the neck, well it might be a bridge pickup. Unless of course it has the obvious wider bridge pole piece spacing.

thanks well I went ahead and tackled it, it came out all right I could not find my heat shrink tubing so had to sufice with the electrical tape for now, found out the pickups are marked R for rear F for front instead of being Neck or bridge stamped on them, the pickups do work I haven't had a chance to crank it up too much. Now I have a bad taste in my mouth for harbor freight tools soldering irons, cheap pickups, because whoever built these pickups built them on a friday or came in with a hangover because the chrome toaster covers had a wide gap on the back side so I had to heat up the solder and put a rag around the chrome, and bend the cover back straight, then it was nearly impossible to get solder to stick to the chrome cover and the base plate of the pickup. needless to say I got it done. I would have gave anything to have had my snap on soldering iron back. Lets just say you get what you pay for I know what was screwed up about I know what I had to go through to make it look right without having a bulge in the back of my pickup ring. I just couldnt see paying 154.00 for some used danoelectro chrome SG gold and chrome toaster style pickups and where can you even find good toaster, or H style pickups new? I know you can buy just the covers in the U.K but the shipping will kill you.

Ibanez AFS75TD

with toaster style pickups 14.5K on bridge, and 8.5k on neck with 12 adjustable poles my version of an Ibanez gretsch nockoff or lawsuit, still have many more updated to do to it.
