Duncan speak...Broadcaster vs. Antiquity

I've used a Duncan Broadcaster for the bridge of my Teles for a long time. I really like that pickup.

But I'm about to get a used Fender Areodyne Tele at a steal, which has a P-90 in the neck spot....and I'm a big fan of the Antiquity P90, so I'll probably replace the stock Fender P90 with an Antiquity P90...which got me to thinking about the various Antiquity Tele bridge pups...

Please offer your opinions on the various Antiquity Tele bridge pups...

Do a search

There was an Antiquity Appreciation Thread around here just about a week or two ago.

Broadcaster vs. Antiquities

Yes...the Antiquity apprecaition thread is not too far down the list there...

I just need some specific opinions from those that have used a Broadcaster and an Antiquity. Like...maybe there is there an Antiquity that sounds similar to a Broadcaster, but maybe it differs in this way or that way...etc.? Get it?

Quite different to my ears

The Broadcaster has more bass and more grit. The Antiquity is smoother with more harmonic overtones and sounds a tad compressed.

I had a Broad. for about 3 years

and the Alnico II for about a year. The II pro is built very similar to the Antiquity. Kris's descripition is accurate.

BUT, when the Broadcaster is played loud, or with a good drive mechanism, it REALLY starts to get those harmonic overtones Kris mentions like the ALnico II pups.

With the same drive applied to Alnico II, they start to sweeten up.

IE...they both react differently to drive levels.
